More than 44,000 people took part in the 24th edition of<\/span> CORRI LA VITA<\/strong><\/span>, choosing to run or walk through the streets of Florence while making a concrete contribution to projects dedicated to breast cancer prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This year, too, the event raised more than \u20ac1 million<\/strong>, thanks to donations collected in the months leading up to the event, registration fees and the many initiatives organised around the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Among the first participants to cross the finish line of the non-competitive race, Maddalena Pizzamano<\/strong> was the first woman, followed by Camilla Fioriti<\/strong> and Alice Boncompagni<\/strong>. In the men\u2019s category, Ayoub Bouras<\/strong> was first, followed by Lablaida Abdeluoahed<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was officially started by Claudio Stecchi<\/strong>, Italian indoor pole vault record holder, together with supermodel Mariacarla Boscono<\/strong>. Also at the starting line to greet participants were Sara Funaro<\/strong>, Mayor of Florence, and Eugenio Giani<\/strong>, President of the Tuscany Region.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

From the starting point on Viale Lincoln, in the Cascine Park, to the finish line at the Loggia dei Lanzi in Piazza della Signoria<\/strong>, the cyclamen pink of the 2026 T-shirt, generously provided by Ferragamo<\/strong>, accompanied thousands of people along the two routes. It was a day in which sport, culture and solidarity came together in the heart of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The success of the 24th edition was made possible thanks to an ever-growing network of institutions, companies, associations, volunteers and citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n

A special thank you goes to the LILT Firenze volunteers<\/strong>, who helped distribute the T-shirts and supported activities in the squares; the Firenze Marathon volunteers<\/strong>, who were present along the entire route; and the volunteers from Citt\u00e0 Nascosta<\/strong> and FILE<\/strong>, who supported the guided tours of the city\u2019s cultural landmarks.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY<\/span><\/p>\n

The funds raised in 2026 will continue to support projects focused on prevention, early diagnosis, cancer treatment and rehabilitation<\/strong>, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • \n

    Expanding diagnostic services<\/strong> at Careggi University Hospital, which has been supported since 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Supporting Ce.Ri.On. Ispro-Lilt at Villa delle Rose<\/strong>, supported since 2005 and a leading centre for oncological and psychophysical rehabilitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Scholarships for young doctors<\/strong> through SenoNetwork, the network established by Professor Luigi Cataliotti, which brings together 158 Breast Units across Italy to help ensure equal access to high-quality care by investing in training and nationwide quality control.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Supporting the Italian Foundation for Palliative Care (FILE)<\/strong>, helping ensure that patients can maintain dignity and receive compassionate care throughout their journey.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    The CORRI LA VITA <\/span>Grant Programme<\/strong>, which this year expands its scope nationwide, funding deserving projects selected by the Scientific Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
